What is so amazing about amorphous metal alloy?

Amorphous metal alloy, with commercial names like 'Liquidmetal'/'Vitreloy'  is almost twice as strong as the strongest titanium alloys. It was developed by a tech company in 2003 and has been used in a broad range of military, medical, luxury, consumer, industrial, and sporting goods products.
Said material is very strong and tough. Therefore, it's strength-to-weight ratio is high, meaning, a much thinner and tougher shell can be cast out of this alloy as compared to a shell stamped out of a stainless metal sheet.
Aside from being very tough, it is believed to be excellent at storing elastic energy, means the material can bounce about like flubber ball-like vigor when dropped.

What is an amorphous metal?

An amorphous metal is a metallic material with a disordered atomic-scale structure. In contrast to most metals, which are crystalline and therefore have a highly ordered arrangement of atoms, amorphous alloys are non-crystalline. Materials in which such a disordered structure is produced directly from the liquid state during cooling are called “glasses”, and so amorphous metals are commonly referred to as “metallic glasses” or “glassy metals“. However, there are several ways besides extremely rapid cooling in which amorphous metals can be produced, including physical vapor deposition, solid-state reaction, ion irradiation, melt spinning, and mechanical alloying. Amorphous metals produced by these techniques are, strictly speaking, not glasses. However, materials scientists commonly consider amorphous alloys to be a single class of materials, regardless of how they are prepared.

Rechargeable battery in 'paint' form?

Scientists have developed a paint that can store and deliver electrical power just like a battery.
They have come up with a technique to break down each element of the traditional battery and incorporate it into a liquid that can be spray-painted in layers on virtually any surface and is rechargeable.
Each layer represents the components of a traditional battery - two current collectors, a cathode, an anode and a polymer separator in the middle.
This has given way to a much more flexible approach that allows all kinds of new design and integration possibilities for storage devices.
The layers can be airbrushed onto ceramics, glass and stainless steel, and on diverse shapes such as the curved surface of a ceramic mug .
But there are limitations as of now with this new technology. Some of which are in the use of difficult-to-handle liquid electrolytes and the need for a dry and oxygen-free environment when making the new device.
Future promising application for this technology could be integrated with solar cells to give any surface a stand-alone energy capture and storage capability.

How safe are your personal datas in free cloud storage?

The simple answer is that your data is at least as safe as it is when stored on any remote server, if not more so.
All data is transferred to computers and mobile devices using secure sockets layer via WebDAV, IMAP, or HTTP. All data except e-mail and notes are stored and encrypted on disk on the company's servers. And secure authentication tokens are created on mobile devices to retrieve information without constantly transmitting a password.
The exception for e-mail may be due to performance reasons, including supporting features like searching messages on the server or partially downloading messages and attachments.
Notes are also not encrypted, the reason is that cloud storage currently syncs notes using IMAP.
For now, though, it's technically possible for an unscrupulous company data center employee to rifle through your e-mail or notes. Those who routinely send and receive messages of importance to national security—or just the more paranoid among us—may want to consider a more secure alternative for e-mail and notes.

Peanuts!

Apple settled iPad trademark dispute with Proview for US$60M.
According to Apple, China is their second-largest market after the US.
During its second fiscal quarter in 2012, sales of their company's products in China Mainland market alone contributed $7.9 billion,  equivalent to about 20% of Apples's revenues.
So, what's a $60M settlement as compared to $7.9B revenue in just 3 months?
Peanuts!
