Speaking about Myanmar [formerly Burma], that tragic ridden country had been suffering for centuries; first under Colonialism, then through boycotted by the West, when impoverished country turned to Socialism. That on going crisis in Myanmar is a product of Colonialism, when the nation was made part of India, and around 8 millions immigrants poured into homogeneous nation in long Colonial era, including Rohingya Bengalis from Bangladesh, which is populous country with around 165 million people, that had been sending millions of illegal immigrants into Myanmar for ages that Myanmar has declared national emergency in Rakhine State in early Eighties, but Western news medias ignored it all, as Myanmar had been boycotted by the West, ever since the impoverished nation turned Socialism after long Colonial era; and as a result, hardly any one out side Myanmar knew truths.
There's hardly any Muslim, Hindu or Christian in Myanmar up until Colonialism, when the small homogeneous nation was put inside Greater India, thus several millions South Asian immigrants moved in; while neighbors such as Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam under French Colonialism had no immigration issue at all.
It's all about British & their South Asian fellows that they used as soldiers and servants to protect their worldwide Colonial Empire as Colonial master extracted wealth for century; and their territorial expansion into Myanmar through immigration ,rewards from master, by the way, which eventually end up a small homogeneous nation, paying ultimate prices.
In my humble opinion why not some Arab countries take them back since many of them in South Asia are ethnically, culturally and religiously similar to those in Arabian Peninsula.
Myanmar also probably endured worst immigration onslaught under long Colonialism, when around six million immigrants moved in, as small homogeneous country was put inside Greater India; while neighbors such as Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam under French Colonialism had no immigration problems at all.
Again, there's hardly any Muslim, Hindu or Christian in Myanmar up until Colonialism centuries earlier; when the small homogeneous country was placed inside Greater India; thus several millions immigrants from South Asia moved in.
You are right in saying the fact that colonized nations such as Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam under French colonialism has no immigration issue. So is Indonesia under Dutch, and Philippine under U.S.
Under British colonialism a great many countries suffered mass immigration issue; not just Burma but also Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, so far as I know of.
Burma probably suffered the worst, being next door to India sub-continent. "
So, some of these European Colonizers, evil nevertheless, are ' lesser of two evils' then;
compared to 'The Sun Never Set Anglo British Colonial Empire'.
" It all comes down to Greater Evil versus Lesser Evil "
