So why has China not taken a path resolutely enough different from the capitalist U.S.A.? It has p ...

Too bad there aren't any prizes for this. You'd have a shelf full of them by now.

China has always been in east Asia.

The Europeans have spent the last 500 years visiting genocide campaigns upon every corner of the world.
North America, South America, Australia, and parts of Africa and Asia have been poisoned with European
voodoo religions and the people made slaves to feudalistic rulers.

You should really pay a visit to China to check that it really is in NE Asia, not in S Asia, and that it really is outside the bamboo curtain that once enclosed victims of Communism.

It is a relatively free, capitalist society now, Pastor.

Whatever political system it is, China should learn from those who have done well in the system of preventing corruption. China is devoting itself to do it, though it still has a long way to go.

With an ever deteriorating social and economic condition as we have witnessed in China, the country’s immunity to turmoil is nothing short of miracle. Apparently, China has installed an effective crisis control mechanism totally different from those of the free market economies. In China, the authority has a firm control on virtually everything. Any potential threats to the stability will be quickly dealt with by the authority. For instance, independently-run labor unions are strictly banned. And insolvent banks and financial institutes could be shut down in a minute, should there be any runs on the banks. And financial data and statistics are carefully manipulated to the advantage of the authority. Losses are easily hidden and shuffled away in a government-dominated economy where transparency and supervision are nowhere to be found. Though China has not a social welfare system in place for those disadvantaged including hundreds of millions of unemployed migrant workers and other loafers, these people somehow manage to survive. They usually manage to get by by either living off their families or doing some menial and seasonal jobs. Millions of jobless college graduates have also joined the club of unemployed. A great percentage of them have turned themselves into a unique group commonly known as “ken-lao-chu”, literally meaning those young people who live off their parents and relatives. It is hard to come up with a precise estimate on the exact number of Ken-Laoers nationwide, but it could be quite astonishing given the unemployment rate among the newly graduates. It is estimated that each year roughly 50-60% of the newly graduates have not been able to land on jobs commensurate with their degrees after their graduation.
Without question, China’s actual economic condition could be a lot worse than what meets the eyes, owing greatly to a relentless and shameless cover-up by the authority. Intuitively, what has been haunting China is not sheer backwardness or poverty, but essentially a deadly flawed political and economic system that denies the society and peoples the opportunities to grow properly. China has been suffering from the continued pains from a poorly-managed economy. And there seems no light at the end of the tunnel.

China should not copy Anglo Saxon capitalism which basically allowed the PLC Banks to become too big.  Then we had the big crash in 2008.

China has been a longer capitalist than is US or UK.

US and UK are not the same except that they both happen to use English as their lingua franca. In time to come it is likely many Chinese will pick up English as well. In the other direction, US and UK will eventually pick up Mandarin. So given some 30 years more except for biological appearance, communication differences will be narrowed to become negligible.

England has stronger family institutions and traditions like China. US is individualist.

Politics are controlled. Its the same for all three, albeit execution method differs. This is evident from the consistent policies these countries have practiced even though their Presidents and Prime Ministers have come and go (same here). Always remember those with wealth wants to protect their wealth. They will never share their wealth with others be him or her, be an English or a Chinese. This gave birth to politics. With wealth the royalties, barons etc. need people to work, work orderly and a mechanism to protect their wealth. If lawlessness rules, it will be difficult for them to perpetuate their ambitions. They will dealing with never feuds, rebellions, be subjected to constant attacks with no peace and also no further development possible. So the birth of politics binds everyone in particular those without money.

Greed is the same, whether an English or a Chinese. Only religion reminds us that money isn't everything in life. While all religion is on the same plane when it comes to money, it isn't the same when it comes to valuing human lives and humanity.

At the end of the day no one follows anyone. Human behavior is largely the same. Execution method may be different though.
