Old Jacquard Textile Machines

..............uses Punch Cards to produce intricate patterns in Textiles.

This ignited a "boomz" in creativity in textile and fabrics for garments.

The use of EARLY COMPUTER by IBM

................created the EARLY COMPUTING LANGUAGE.

It was a minor small step forward in computing industry!
In the punch card, codes are used to determine the citizen, their "entitlement"

Then, they introduce the MAGNETIC TAPE data storage

...........in early 1930's Germany - 1933 - Ferrous Oxide coated tapes, and was introduce by 1950, 1960 to the computers of IBM, NCR, WANGS in the USA!

Using GIANT SIZE circuits of transistors (ha ha ha) and GIANT SIZE magnetic tape reels (Wah Ha ha ha), the "punch card" was made obsolete!

(Mind you, when this was first introduced - the people were AMAZED!)

And there we have it MAIN FRAME computers!

The analoque system of the vinyl record

...............must have given rise to the MAGNETIC TAPE technology.

In fact, AUDIO music store was the major use of the "magnetic tape" technology.
Those were the exciting days for the magnetic tape which lasted from 1933 till 1980's (some 50 years technological life cycle) when OPTICAL DISC became dominant.

In the early 1900's, large vacumn tube

................were used in electronic circuits.

I remember my family owning a RADIO with RECORD PLAYER in 1960's, the size of a bench! We owned a Japanese made JVC radio in those days. Father must have bought the radio in the 1950's as shops were begining to sell radio with tape drive and transistor circuits in the 1960's. (we had that too! - together with magnetic tapes as well!)

That explains the early computing machines being VERY LARGE, size of entire rooms.

In the 1960's transistor circuit boards were introduced

....................and it was a marvel to see bench size radio sets shrunk to only a size of milk litre carton.

Those were the days of amusing amazements, (by hindsight). Radios small enough to be powered by BATTERIES, and the carry around BOOM BOXES craze began! (circa 1960's)
