The problem is: most electricity in China is made out of coal - that's why the total CO2 emissions of China already surpassed the US as the world's largest polluter and the percapita emission surpassed some major European countries (like France).
It's ok to use a lot of electricity - the question is, where the electricity comes from.

China can't get around building new nuclear power plants and hydroenergy plants if it wants to reduce its environmental pollution - so it'd be better if the central government would push those technologies rather than wind and solar energy. Chinese greentec companies can sell those to Europe, as many European nations are pushing them already.

Don't be a fool.

We get the real truth when we check on US coal output.
We add their natural gas use, nuclear plants and hydro kinetic capacity!

It adds up to 300 giga equivalent, 150 giga equivalent, 100 giga equivalent and 150 giga equivalent.
That means USA is only have 2 KW per capita.

Energy usage is actually bigger in the United States as they use HEATING boilers using fuel oil compared to Europe or Japan. China use electricity but most household use heating coal briquettes.

The US only uses about 600giga at most!

cheerios!

Most of the electricity use in China is for INDUSTRIES.

That explains why the PER CAPITA GNP is low, China economy is mostly in the PRIMARY, SECONDARY industries whileit's TERTIARY services sector is quite stunted. The skill needed for the TERTIARY sector is at it's infancy. No doubt we see beautiful cities in Guangzhou, Beijing and a little bit in Shanghai.

Just look at Shenzen, it's just a campus for three major electronics/telecom manufacturer of equipment. This is the HUAWEI, (world's 2nd largest mobile telco equipment), ZTE and FOXCONN.

China is also about huge industrial towns, industrial cities!

Vast production of manufactured or assembled products.

300 million industrial, assembly workers!
Some 50% of the workforce! Supports some 50% of the Chinese population!
Massive Production Campuses!

nuclear power can pose a  potential hazardous to our environment,as fukashima in japan is a vivil example.nature gas , goal and othe fuels  are limited resource, and all these will exhaust in a near future. so harmously using of nature resource like wind, hydroelectricity and tide is the only choice.

The globe now has sufficient energy

.........for use for several hundred years.

Probably by the time, when coal become scarse - technology would have progressed to a level that we can tap the GEOTHERMAL ENERGY of earth's crust.  Somehow, i believe we'll have the technology ready before we run out of coal, crude oil, natural gas or uranium.

cheerios!
