Now, this comes as strange - I SEE THIS COMING

Big negotiation.

SOUTH NORTH water diversion project.
Do we build such a MASSIVE PROJECT only to be able to divert water for probably 3-4 months in a year?

Let's see what's going on next!

Who will have the FINAL SAY about water diversion.

The new US$60 billion (Rmb360 billion) South North Water Diversion Project - MUST ONLY TRANSFER extra "RAINY SEASON WATER" without damaging the

WET LANDS and LAKES of the Inland central provinces.
This means only during the middle months of the WET SEASON. (May to October)
In the meantime, CENTRAL GOVERNMENT grants should be forthcoming to improve drainage and reduce extent of water damage to the Central Inland Provinces.

Theoritical speaking, the MEGA project will only be used probably in JUNE to AUGUST - when water flow hits a high of 110,000 tonnes per second!
And the water diverted should be use to create NEW WETLAND-LAKES in suitable Valley location up North.
Salinity of the diverted water would be a big ISSUE, as evaporation is a big issue up north.
(Salt water lakes would do just as well, if that happens!)

We know the North East Plains of China

...........would benefit more with additional water supply!

But could it take advantage of only "at most" 3 months of water.
Could the water be stored and create new WETLANDS to benefit agriculture or new urban centres.

The diversion has already spent a BIG SUM of money.
Let's work it out without damaging the resources of the Inland Central Provinces.

Double talk, triple talk among

...........bureaucrats, politicians, government link revenue merchants.
(of course confused citizens, confused media practitioners - who are tools of such gentleman classes!)

So, is it the WETLANDS, ELECTRICITY, maybe reduction of the density of population in the rural provinces, OR more water conservation technologies, sea water desalination for the NORTH EAST plains cities.

Water Rationing, or Water Diversion

...............and how'd to do it.

The British Guardian has decided to JOIN OUR DISCUSSION on this matter. It appears that the European Union has a "assistance team" in the Yellow River Commission. (That's rather friendly of the Europeans - seems like the "complex relationship" is a standard option by many states! ha ha ha) It appears the RIVER COMMISSION in China is among the world's most complex system - so how'd did the Inland Central Province faced drought post spring for a few years in a row?

Of course the STANDARD THOUGHTS would be

(1) How to INTENSIVE USE the water resources in the Yellow River Basin.
(2) How to RATION water to use, and WATER PRICING, introduction of water conservation technology and equipment.
(3) DIVERSION water politics, a prickly problem with the Central Inland Province, which did by "double, triple talk" - they own the CCP-PLA. ha ha ha
(4) What is the SOC (standard operational condtion) before DIVERSION of water be done.
(5) Electricity, irrigation, industrial, citizen water use rights, allocation in Central Inland Province and in the Yellow RiverBasin or the North East Plains!

BIG discussion.
The Guardian is "kind" enough to "point out", 226 days in a year, the water from the Yellow River does not reach the sea! Very very intensively used Water Resource indeed!

Water rights negotiation, Chinese style

.....................some strange news reports - drought, some strange replies - drought.

then, we have people trying to popularized old Red Songs, or the revolutionary period - meaning the CCP Army, the PLA.

hmmmmm

Pretty likely we'll need the North East to concentrate on REDUCING per capita water usage, and concentrate on WATER SAVING industries.

The Natural solution - Central Inland, South and North Provinces does the MORE WATER CONSUMING industries.

I do think it's SILLY for poor provinces like HUNAN, JIANGXI to give away industries that's rightfully should be INVESTED in their provinces due to their natural resource advantage.

The Yellow Basin provinces shouldn't feel sad too, WATER SAVING devices and INDUSTRIES means a huge new and VAST market. (I will be posting some pictures of products needed in such a situation!)
