Premier Wen probably "agrees"

.......or at least "China Daily Editors" agrees with our postulation on the bulletin board.

In fact, China can increase "meat production", by transferring "wheat", "rice" planting to "potatoes" - thus increasing yieldfrom 4 to 6 tonnes per hectare, and gain 20 to 22 tonnes per hectare. The excess land can be used to plant more corn - plus imports of soya bean from South America - we can gain more CHICKEN and PORKERS for consumption - even for exports to Japan, Korea and Taiwan!

(dearest Alvi - the intensive agriculture in China is "world famous", probably unique in our globe!)

Of course that's if the soil is suitable for potatoes!

.........paddy and tuber soil needs are different. I think wheat and patotoes can be alternative crops!

Otherwise it's the idea of the "lakeside rain" from "salt water" lake idea "if found workable" to be created via pumping "sea water" to inner mongolia and old dried out salt lakes in Xinjiang!

USA is now importing "orange juice" concentrate

..........from Brazil, and "apple juice" concentrate from China!

America is now becoming more and more, a consumer society! This mean protecting the US$ mint, and the strategies becomes more and more vital. Isn't that interesting?

A simple comparison between USA and China

...........reveals an amazing picture!

USA produces only approximately US$400 billion agricultural products, exports US$130 billion of food products while importing US$60 billion of food products. That means USA is dependent on 20% of it's food needs - expecially on the vital gourmet food section - it's middle class businesses! (The US$ 60 billion of imports probably generates GDP in services nearer US$600 billion!!!)

China on the other hand produces US$800 billion and only exports US$30 billion worth of food products and approximately US$40 billion in food import a year (mostly soya bean, wheat and beverages)!

Imagine three states, and the agriculture output!

China - 150 million hectare
USA   - 150 million hectare (with probably 20 to 30 million hectares left abandoned or under utilized)
India   - 150 million hectare

The Number 1 producer, China, used massive "land development", and "intensive agriculture" to produce US$800 billion worth of produce. The Number 2, USA, did minimal "land development" but used "industrial agriculture", but starving their agriculture of manpower, brainpower and manage to produce US$400 billion. Then we have India, who produced US$200 billion worth of produce!

I have great doubt, China needs 900 million people as it was in 1995 - to produce such massive agriculture produce. My best guess, it should be 330 million people with farmer, workers and service workers to give "quality lifestyle" to the rural people!

While USA by year 2050, due to "inefficiency" could face food defisit issues!

I notice China's farmers

...........are being dressed in UV protect WORK CLOTHES, more and more! That should now include a UV absorbing cap as well.

Suggest we encourage in Gloves, Boots should be used to protect the hand and feet of farmers too!
This will protect the workers, farmers from the effect of early "skin ageing" that has long "created a label" on the profitable trades of the rural family farms!

(Creating a household income of Rmb50,000 to Rmb120,000 by year 2020/2030 is a honourable undertaking for China!)

I expect that local government also "undertake" to create a "pleasant" countryside by doing "LANDSCAPING" of the rural township, village and the roads, hillsides!

With steady completion of sewage treatment plants

........in urban areas, China gains yet more Bio-Natural fertilizers to aid in it's "intensive agriculture" methods!

While in USA, they still pump sludge into the Atlantic city.
These sewage poisons a huge zone of ocean there!

American NGO has longed worried about American Northeast Super Centre "solid waste", "untreated sewage" disposal onthe Atlantic continental shelf.

cheerios!
