A little less contention please!

Why are so many people arguing on these forum pages and not just making some valid points. All of us on this planet need to work together to solve problems that affect all of us individually. Racism and nationalism will get us nowhere.

Many of the things we have today in this world come from ancient China. Many can be accepted as good and some not so good. Other peoples on this earth have been responsible for making innovations and discoveries.

Let's get over ourselves and get down to the business of making a better place to live for our children and future generations. Open trade would be a nice place to start if we could all do what we do the best and trade without sanctions and arbitrary subsidies.

The Confucian Bureaucracy and the Taoist Gentleman helped

...........China a lot.

To solve the problem of deforestation, the Taoist Gentleman decided that they love gardens. This created extensive forest reserves which prevented the denudation of the hills and in creating garden areas around lakes, dug probably for water storage - as well as canals - to distribute water. They started to use bamboo, hemp, swamp wood as it was all very fast growing - for their timber requirement.

They popularized the concept of adventure for the growing population, found ways to limit population growth - by using indentured labour for the landless, without skill - Shaolin monastry living for the desperate or ex bandits! - Till they were no more land to occupy - blocked by range of mountains, great plains of grass or land occupied by foreign people!

The Americans only had legislation to protect the

............FOREST only in 1916. (The National Parks). That meant the Chinese civilization understood the problems - YES, the Naturalist in the Chinese Civilization!

The Chinese people grew BAMBOO plantations to replace their need for timber. So, probably only in China were there extensive use of BAMBOO in furniture production, water piping. They found use of "charcoal" from fast growing swamp wood, and use grown hemp material to make paper - for writing, and for the covering of the window - that lets in the light, but keep the cool breeze of air out of the homes!

It was all too successful - and China's elite couldn't find better ways till the British came - and innovated!

The Niger Civilization solved the over population

........issue in their drying out valley BY EXPORTING slaves to Arabs, French, Spanish pirates.....

When it comes to real issue, of the "underclass", the category of citizens squeeze out of productive land, productive assets and own very little real assets - all signs of a "shortage" stressed civilization - states comes out with different solutions. Compare that to the European Civilization - which decides WAR is a good way to reduce population sizes. OR in China, when the Dynastic Administration fails in their duties - resulting in REBELLION and changes of dynastic rulers!

The greening, blooming of the desert!

This has been the wishes of the former great ancient civilization of the Mesopotamia, Nile and probably the Niger as well!

This is an often spoken wish of the people in those formerly great ancient lands!
We can read it in the Holy Books of these people!
and in the daily pronouncement of the people in the present, like the Semites races in Israel, Lebanon......

These people once upon a time, knew that their land was Green, Rich, and Fertile!

cheerios!
