Everybody is serious about 2012!

China is building 3 "flat top" amphibious assault ships, Japan has complete 1 unit - plans for another 2. Spain has 4 new units, Australia is completing 2 units, Korean has 1 unit.

All medium size - 20,000 to 25,000 tonnnes ships!

UK is building 2 large aircraft carrier, and has 3 amphibious assault "flat tops".......
= and the middle east is in great turmoil now!
= "1973" threat looms again!

hmmmmmm

cheerios!

With the rise in prices of commodities

.........."mining of the sea beds" should become a viable industry.

I have noticed on "youtube" that the Singapore navy possess a DEEP DIVE sea bed exoskeleton (submarine) with support vessels. It could mean a new industry besides the "promised" Roll Royce "Trent" engine manufacturing facilities in Singapore.

This would be the SEA BED mining industry.
It would mean a spawning a larger, bigger range of "heavy marine engineering" industry in Singapore and probably Malayan Federation. Sea Bed crawlers operations, and whole range of oil, gas pump, pipe equipment needed in the SUNDA CONTINENTAL SHELF.

Another round of growth for Singapore - besides the Jet engine facility, UAV idea, Space Dome plans, and expanded Offshore Banking industry.

Growth for the next decade is virtually guaranteed.

cheerios!

And we got to thank the EXPANDING CHINA

........market, which hungers for all kind of commodities.

The East China Sea, South China Sea and Sunda Continental Shelf has advantage of shallow sea depths!
This will not have the "incredible pressures" that is faced in deeper oceans!

cheerios!
