I don't quite understand, why the Singapore Navy would build their dock ships with limited aircraft landing capability!

The new Dockships in Korea, Japan have flat tops!
This are effectively UA ...

Yes, you'd think they'd be built with the possibility of operating fixed winged aircraft like UAV/UCAV's or even F-35B's.

Captain Matthew!
It felt funny at first, but it's actually possible to build a low cost expeditionary force!

Just a dockship with flat tops, and we can load 50 units or more UAV's - with high e ...

I read a novel about this some years ago - ended up in a big sea battle between US UAVs and Chinese UAVs - of course the US won.

Can't remember name of book or author.

Man created god before god created man and the world has been in turmoil ever since. Dots freak some people out - so they join them with lines that aren't really there.

.......of about 150 metres to launch and land those 3 to 4 metre length UAV's, probably 3 metre wide landing deck!

Britain has a rust bucket for sale that would do the job - fit UAVs with VETOL - solved.

It is interesting that China is converting many of the old obselete Mig to UAV system. Removing cannon and fitting hard points for air to air missiles. A very good use for old planes - use them in a mass attack - lose no pilots yet keep any modern fighter bombers very busy avoiding missile attack.

Also these old jets can be stripped of a lot of non essential items and then packed with decent amount of modern high explosive and used in mass attacks on surface ships in the same way the Japs used the "Divine Wind" during the latter stages of WWII - but with UAV system so no pilots lost.

The video systems and remote control systems available today make it possible to give these old aircraft a very usefull end for their life.

I think the 4G telco system, just indicate how advanced REMOTE CONTROL drones can be!
With the 4G telco system, we'd realized that there is a 5G in the military arena - while 6G is being researched!

With the pulse dense data transmission, signal interception becomes harder to achieved!
This will work well with the Fighter Drones, Reconnaissance, and Command & Control Awacs!

The Bomber Drones have been viable for a long time already, don't really need to have remote control - since it could fly using "terrain recognition" system - simply not interceptable by electronic countermeasure units, since there is none, except when it's on it's way back to base!

cheerios!

The UAV's are about 50% the dimension of the manned units

..........and probably 1/4 the weight!

As long it's autonomous system, it's quite deadly!
With the REMOTE CONTROL systems getting more sophisticated, encrypted, it's possible to have UAV fighters!

Singapore needs a flat top ship, with at least 150 metres, while Japan, Korea already has ships with 260 metre runways! It reduces the vulnerability of it's surface ships, and be able to project power further beyond it's shore!

Cheerios!
