I don't think that it is necessary for Singapore to build a aircraft carrier .

The Endurance Class Dockships, 6,500 tonnes ships are already sufficient to become UAV carriers!

So, you are right!
Just need to build up the UAV types!
It's just an enhancement of the capability of the fleet to face future possibilities!
Already the ship has all the prerequisite - better if it has a longer runway - all 150 metres of it!

cheerios!

Without the longer runway

..........The Singapore navy could just use a large NET to stop the UAV's on the landing pad!

Maybe a refit of two units of the Endurance class Dockship

.............would do wonders and enhance offensive capability, and create a duo "expeditionary" and "UAV carrier" capability!

You only need a RUNWAY

.......of about 150 metres to launch and land those 3 to 4 metre length UAV's, probably 3 metre wide landing deck!

I think it's a swell idea!

At least Singapore and Malayan Federation in tow would benefit from this capability!
Imagine, having the ability to attack a rogue nuclear state! (pretty unlikely tha ...

I see no problem with the idea and Singapore can certainly afford it and has access to the technology to build such a naval air fleet.

I don't quite understand, why the Singapore Navy would build their dock ships with limited aircraft landing capability!

The new Dockships in Korea, Japan have flat tops!
This are effectively UAV carriers already!
So, the region is getting ready for the next leap in Weapon's development game!

cheerios!
