Look at the shortage in this manner - The sectoral basis! - assembly industry base|
Above 45 years old, eye sight weakens.
Assembly jobs needs good "eye to hand" coordination.
Older folks means "capability for detail handiwork falls" - especially true for electronic industry with many small components, This will increase the ENTRY SALARIES for the young cohorts!
So, when the YOUNG COHORT, non graduate - available for assembly work will be short post 2018!
(Besides the falling rural population supply of unskilled workers)
Services jobs needs to be increase quickly.
Example of service jobs available for above 45, with no skill, will have no shortage!
A MALL for example - Security guard, Cleaning, Courtesy Staff, Maintenance, Logistics (especially with power tools, like forklift, conveyors) etc. It's time to develop bigger range of Small and Medium size enterprise, Traders, Wholesalers, Services etc. for the 45 - 65 cohorts, post 2018!
As for Total Labour force, it can be adjusted by changes in the RETIREMENT AGE, and improvements in work processes that allow older workers to continue their career!
