  1. What's wrong with this statistics?

There is a lot wrong with your statistics as far as China is concerned. I recommend you to check with the National Bureau of Statistics and subscribe their annual editions.  As far as private business is concerned my last one is from 2007. I still have to see the 2009 edition.

As per 2007 China had approx. 26 million so called registered small private businesses plus about 5 million private domestic companies (wording depends on number of employees and output).

That's a total of 31 million. SOE are not included.

google should make life easier!

In the days before google (for those younger than 20 years old), we have to visit libraries - something like the University Library in the NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE, where we pore over JOURNALs, publications of government, newspaper, magazines, research institutes to gather information - like GNP, car ownership, agricultural production, science, geography.....etc.

it's a tool to make research easier....
but if google don't behave professionally, we need loyal YEOMAN to set up new SEARCH ENGINE to access accurate data for benefit of the society!

It's a tall order for software, search engines developer.

They have to develop and search for good sites for good data!

Then it has to be able to translate to languages that Oversea Chinese can understand!
It has to pinpoint the search pattern of the individual user and find ways to made it friendly to use!
a BIG BIG but vital in the modern competitive world where information becomes VERY CHEAP....
only the cost of the INTERNET CONNECTION....

A NEW WORLD!
an AMAZING WORLD, a Webster world!
an the ARCHITECT the will create the new WEB based WORLD!
