No.2 AVIC 2 - location = Shanghai, Revenue = US$2 billion

and for Mr. Bingsilk, i know about
Dell Computer, Apple Inc., Honeywell, Motorola, IBM too!
Yes all around US$30 billion to US$60 billion sales!

but here the topic is WHAT NEXT for China!
(not how to compare to the High Technology in USA!)

if we are on that topic, then we have to think ROLL ROYCE, uk, Siemens, Phillips, Thales, etc.....

Well, This would help Mr. Bingsilk to work out how China would catch up with the world in technology!

Let's start with those in microelectronics and the associated appliance, white goods industr ...

Strictly speaking,  the most of the companies you listed above is out of microelectronic lines. They are belong to electronic or electric lines, instead.
Gree, Midea,  huawei and fore haier etc.
Some of them use oversea chips in their sets especially Lenovo.

Most of color TV (or lcd etc) chips and devices are from Japan. We OEM and have a good outline design.

Can anyone list a Chinese microelectronic company? for example, in Wuxi, shanghai, suzhou and tec,? The semiconductor industry in Beijing seems to be complete end.

of the companies you listed most make most of their revenue making TVs and washing machines which are not technology intensive industries.

Why did you say that they are not tech intensive trype?
Look at inner TV, every chip behaves high tech. Large size make more precision design to keep HIFI, colorful and green enough.
Techneque is also a higher tech. otherwise you can produce a good set.

Washing machine is , too, strong mechanism design need more machine knoledge.
How to make a more efficient machine is a problem as well.
