In Malaysia, our Malayan large corporations are hit...

...IOI, Telekom Malaysia has been hit by HUGE LOSSES in US$ hedges of derivative trades.

Stock prices plummel downwards, up to 60% from peak for Telekoms Malaysia. Crazy management. (Mr. Badawi scolded many Khazanah linked, and PNB link companies for haphazard management)

This comes at a bad time for the ruling coalition, especially UMNO, now facing a challenge from Mr. Anwar Ibrahim, the opposition leader, ex-Deputy Prime Minister who is garnering support from Borneo politicians, rebel UMNO members, and patronage lacking members of the ruling National Front coalition of MIC, and Gerakan.

It's bad coming hand in hand to news of MAYBANK troubles with investments in Indonesian, Pakistan banks, CIMB bank with huge derivative trades.  Recently Sime DArby also lost a lot of value due to shrinking Palm Oil prices, while Petronas now facing trouble from shrinking crude oil prices.

This is trying time for the ruling coalition especially for incoming Prime Minister Mr. Najib.

The Borneo politicians are all taking advantage of the situation... demand for rights of the natives population. This include more industrial developments, more infrastructure electricity, water and logistic linkage. In Sarawak, (more so), and Sabah, oil and gas royalties, development of Bakun or other hydroelectric resources...

and likely old problems such as TV stations, RHB banks etc. will be a hot issue.

Let's see the developments in this front.

Malaysia "with reforms" instituted by Mr. Badawi... now ready for the TWO PARTY SYSTEM, and it's pacifying methods.

The losses in Telekom, Sime Darby, Maybank, (maybe CIMB) worth almost M$60 billion or more in market value. (whew!!!!!!!)
Then we still looking at Tenaga, what with slowdown in electricity demand...
and Petronas, what with reducing Crude oil and gas prices...

Between Mr. Anwar and Mr. Najib, i reckon it does not matter much to me. But as pacification method, it's a great system.

even Singapore is reeling...

..the rich Singapore Telecom needed to "borrow" an extra "S$1 billion" to ride out the crisis!

so it's not surprising to expect problems in Malaya too!

What is rather interesting in Malaya is that UMNO reeling from change of being a party of  "school teachers and royal elites" to a party of "Mamaks, Mixed breed elite wealthy, Riau UMNOputras" troubles especially "GREEDY and MONEY politics", has been tearing the party apart. This is the symptom of the "syariah", of being too successful.

Only the scion of Razak, and Hussein remains viable, since they have been honest to the FELDA cooperatives, PNB, TH while the other in Education ministry, the back bone of UMNO in the past. But patronage has taken over the party especially in Central and Hai San regions. While in Patani region, traditional culture of respect of the COUNCIL OF ULAMA is against the NATIONALISM of the JOHOR RIAU region.

Malaya is now wrought with changes!
Changes that will make it stronger for the 21st century!

Singapore might be faced by a big scar in downtown....

...Marina Bay as the NEW CASINO by the "Marina Sands Casino" faced danger of abandonment.

and Singapore cannot afford that, making an ugly result of having a STATE RUN agency running a casino, CAPITALAND is said to be taking over equity and financing of the project should Alderson's Sands Casino goes kaput!!!!!

hopefully, Singapore government will find buyers for the project as it's not wise for the STATE to run a casino, ESPECIALLY in a spot that i don't really favour, we should not have a casino in easy access of the local population.....SENTOSA island or maybe Kusu island is better...

Never listen for this idea!
