Good question GD. All I could find is that Russia's 2009 budget is based on a crude oil price of US$ 70,- a barrel and we're there soon. I call this budget - wishful thinking. We'll see.

read that a lot of Arab, Persian, Venezeulan, Russian demand for Japanese, Korean and Chinese products comes from bouyant crude oil prices.

what would happen if prices continue to plunge?

i do expect CRUDE OIL PRODUCTION cut backs soon.
maybe expand range of currencies to accept for crude oil purchases from Euro,. US$, to Chinese Renmimbi. etc.

The high liquidity, good commodties prices....

....boost demand from the energy bloc, commodity producing countries, including China....
