Advanced molecular nanotechnology as envisioned by Ray Kurzweil or Eric Drexler may make it economically viable, but that will create such chaos and upheaval that nation states as we know them today may no longer exist.  Then there wouldn't be any nationalists or fascists left to taunt on internet forums   The means of production will fall into the hands of the people and the state will just wither away....

can you explain a little bit more detail about the "advanced molecular nanotechnology" concept?

what kind of new applications will it provide?
getting a new concept accepted is vital for it's viability!

cheerios!

I am waiting for Mr. Marco Polo's answers.

(imagine the Amerikan Regime needs to look back at their 40year old records to redo the "moon landings".....they are hoping for private sector initiative to pay for the space tourism idea!)

Marco is a typical Anglo who does not know what he is talking about.

It was the Jewish Physicist, Richard Feynman, who first introduced the idea of nanotechnology when he gave a lecture entitled: "There is plenty of room at the bottom".

It basically means making machines, so small, that they can enter the bloodstream of a person and perform operations like clearing blood clots.

Also, we are talking atomic level machines that work on the principles of quantum mechanics.
So, of course, there are tremendous scientific and technological problems to overcome.

Of course, China and India are doing research in this area as it is future technology.
