As China is a late comer to the automobile market, it'll probably do what Japan and now Korea is doing!|
First it, subcontract parts of major car company, thus supplying component and subassemblies to major quality car producers.
Second, it builds complete cars that will be used as the 2nd car, or wife's cars.
Many countries in Europe, British Club, East Asia states and United States have families with two or more cars. The 1st car is always a mid size, suv or luxury car. The 2nd or 3rd car is for the children, wife to do mundane work.
In addition, USA, Europe has many protectionist policies such as standards of engineering, brand favouritism, engine size, fuel used.
The advantage of the British Club is that it has component states in all the major markets. The British Club itself is a major car market for the world especially with it's better than 0.65 adult car ownership ratio. Entry of car in the British club will help Chinese car manufacturer penetrate the other major market.
China must realized that it's internal market will be the world largest car by volume. (i doubt it can be in value for a long time yet)
