   Robert,

   Thanks to The West and their gospel of preaching and defending the old goat Capitalism by all means and at all costs,

  with 4400 nuclear arsenals & 800 military bases world wide among others;

  today,

  - The world's wealthiest 42 people in 2017 had wealth equivalent to the world's poorest 3.7 billion people,

     [which, by the way, is half the population of the whole wide world.]

  - The world's richest 1% own more wealth than the rest of the global population combined.

  - 82% of the global wealth generated last year went to just 1% of the world's population.

  - The three richest Americans have the same amount of wealth as the poorest half of the U.S. population.

( excerpt from "3 richest own as much wealth as half of U.S." article, USA TODAY, Monday, January 22, 2018).

Robert,

I am not being cynical; it is an irony that the West has made the world a much safer place through its arsenals of nuclear weapons whereas the former com munist Soviets destroyed tens of thousands of square kilometer of Kazakh territory with their nuclear waste and the city and environs of CHernobyl. This beside the many nuclear submarines that the former Soviet Union lost to the bottom of some ocean or other.

I see,
The United States conducted around 1,054 nuclear tests by official count, including 216 atmospheric, underwater, and space tests. Not to forget the Marshall Islands and off Kiritimati Island in the Pacific, plus three in the Atlantic Ocean.

Now how many Nukes did the US lose...
7 Times The US Government Lost Nuclear Weapons That Still Haven’t Been Found ...

6. December 1965 – An A-4E Skyhawk attack plane carrying a B-43 thermonuclear bomb sank into the Pacific Ocean after it rolled off of the USS Ticonderoga while returning to a naval base in Yokosuka, Japan, after a deployment to Vietnam.

The plane, the pilot, and the weapon were lost in more than 16,000 feet of water, and have never been recovered. It was not until 1989 that U.S. officials finally admitted the accident took place, 70 miles from Okinawa. The Los Angeles Times noted that this incident provided “evidence that U.S. warplanes operating off Vietnam were loaded with nuclear bombs and that U.S. warships carried atomic weapons into Japanese ports in violation of Japanese policy.”

Let's hope Kim Jong-un isn't trying to pull a fast one and intelligence affirming that his people are in fact not destroying but installing new nuclear equipment is false. It wouldn't be the first time N Korea's top dog was lying to the world.
