What a silly idea: WHy should the GOVERNMENT have to make NEW laws to deal with VANDALISM? There must be laws to fight that already.

There is no need for new laws. Rent bikes are someone's property and someone else chooses to use a bike, then to abandon it. What new law is needed? None. People only need to become CIVILISED and orderly. Don't throw things away that you used just a moment ago. bring them to an appropriate site, a parking area for example. If you abandon the bike where it is not appropriate you the user should be fined. The company that rents out bikes should have the legal power to deduct a fine from your bank account.

The decision to shut down on Saturday was "disappointing and extremely frustrating," the Hong Kong-based company wrote in its announcement. "We hoped for the best. But we were wrong ... In 4 months, 60% of our fleet was destroyed, stolen or privatized, making the whole European project no longer sustainable."

Shared bike companies should have some solutions to solve the problem. For example, allocate the bikes reasonably.
And those companies should recycle and repair broken bikes.
TV stations can also do programs on TV to promote the protection of shared bikes.

There are mountains of bicycles in some places, but there are no cars can be found in some place.
And those companies should recycle and repair broken bikes.
