ZTE Folly May Spur Chinese Chip Push...
The Commerce Department imposed a seven-year ban on the company's purchases of key U.S. technology.
But all should be worried about Chinese President Xi Jinping's aggressive plan to make his country technology independent. Beijing has earmarked billions of dollars to develop semiconductors to avoid the exact scenario playing out in Washington this week.

Thank you America, as from now on Chinese will do the job by themselves,
But as the government works even harder to avoid a repeat, it won't be in a hurry to forget.

So let me understand, Chinese citizens get in a tizzy declaring that there should be boycotts of US products because ZTE violates agreements on selling technology to North Korea and, citing security concerns, that Chinese telecoms products should not be purchased by governmental offices thus affecting companies like ZTE and Huawei.

Meanwhile, China for the last four years has banned government offices from buying Windows 8 systems, continued to block Facebook, Twitter, And just about every other US online tech company (for the last decade) - and there is no mention of this context?

Why did the Chinese government ban Microsoft from public procurement bids in China? Yes - you got it - they cited national security concerns.

Honestly, what do you have to complain about?
