Convicted paedophiles are going to be given ‘chemical castration’ treatment on the NHS. The national programme will be rolled out in six prisons as part of an initiative to reduce the number of sex offences in the country. Boss 'lifting bum and farting on employee' is not bullying, judge rules Clinics in six prisons are going to offer the treatment to sex offenders on an opt-in basis. If they do choose to undergo the treatment, prisoners will be able to choose from behaviour-altering medication to full chemical castration. After an initial roll-out, the scheme is expected to expand further, The Times reported. Criminal psychiatrist Professor Don Grubin is conducting the national chemical treatment programme, along with the prison service and the Department of Health. While a small number of inmates will be given full chemical castration – where a person is prescribed a drug that takes away all sexual desire – the majority will be given medicines that dampen behaviour and reduce compulsive thinking. At least they were given a choice. More than the victims received.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

I'm all in favour of repeat offenders having a 9mm lead and copper sleeping pill administered to the brain via a small charge of ball or log propellant. Far cheaper than chemical castration with a 100% no re-offending rate.

If castration is to be used, just get a pair of bolt cutters and dock the offender. No painkillers are needed, just some bandages, make sure that all 3 bits get removed in one movement.  Lopping shears might be better than bolt cutters.
