Well well well, that expose mindset of US all along, hoping to use trade war threat to scare the Chinese officials witless .

They long held the belief Chinese easily threatened and adopt a accommodating way to avoid trade war

Very very funny!

Going forward, China needs to re-study the following carefully:

a. the effect of US fracked oil and gas on the cost of goods to be sold globally;

b. the effect of US asymmetrically arm-twisting its allies through the revived TPP and other alliances;

c. the new forex play on the dollar vs yuan.

These three factors may spin side-effects on the TECH war.

Now the Trump administration is thinking of exempting Europe as well from the US tariff on steel and aluminium if they will support the US to force terms on China's trade practice.

In short, the US is trying now to turn all guns in the west on China. Soon one may expect Australia, Japan, India and South Korea to also bend.

This is US protectionism transforming into China containment.

Was it the US' original stratagem to target only China, or is it because, finding that it is losing out, it is opportunistically grasping the straw to make China the straw-man for its own policy fiasco while its leader Trump earns points saving his own skin despite a 'stormy daniels' exposure on the one hand and a mueller investigation on the other?

China must brave itself for the worst-case scenario in the two months ahead; one will be the Peninsula distraction where the US will try to humiliate DPRK first and thus increase tensions; the other will be a trade-tech-trade global war to isolate China before the eyes of the trading world.
