"For unknown reasons the Tesla caught fire," ... maybe it was from a catastrophic short circuit...  just maybe...
"Tesla Motors wouldn't say if Autopilot was working at the time of the crash."... well if it was engaged it's
safe to say it wasn't working. Maybe the driver just plowed into the center barrier on his or her own.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- A U.S. agency said Tuesday it has sent investigators to look into a fatal crash and fire on a California highway that involved a Tesla electric SUV equipped with a semi-autonomous control system.

The National Transportation Safety Board said on Twitter that it's not clear whether the Tesla Model X was operating on its Autopilot program at the time of the crash.
The feature is designed to keep a vehicle centered in its lane at a set distance from cars in front of it and also can change lanes and brake automatically.
The driver of the Tesla, a 38-year-old man from San Mateo, California, was killed in the crash last week on U.S. 101 in Silicon Valley, California Highway Patrol spokesman Art Montiel said.

Photographs taken of the SUV show the front of the vehicle was obliterated. Its hood was ripped off and its front wheels were strewn on the freeway.

The vehicle was traveling southbound at "freeway speed" when it hit a freeway barrier, causing a collision with two other cars whose drivers were not reported injured, Montiel said.
"For unknown reasons the Tesla caught fire," Montiel said.
Palo Alto, California-based Tesla Motors wouldn't say if Autopilot was working at the time of the crash.

The driver was a male apple engineer and a father that leaves behind a devastated family. The apple engineer is reported to have complained to his Tesla dealer that the Tesla autopilot system had veered toward the very barrier that it drove into when it killed him. Of course Tesla is denying this and Tesla is also saying that the reason the man died was because the barrier did not have a safety barrier in front of it. Missing safety barrier or not the Tesla has driven straight into a barrier. And yes it seems as though it was the Tesla battery that caused the fire that burned the Tesla driver to death. The huge fire took over 30 firefighters to put out and it took hours to remove the vehicle because they were too afraid to go near it in case the Tesla battery would cause secondary explosions. It is no wonder Tesla stock has fallen since this accident. I think it is safe to say that autopilot was indeed switched on when the crash occurred so in that case I think that Elton Musk is responsible for the death and he should be charged with second degree murder. Elton Musk has murdered this poor man.
The ABC7 I-Team has word of a major development in the investigation. His family says Huang complained about the Tesla's auto-pilot "before" the accident. Dan Noyes has an exclusive report.

Walter Huang's family tells Dan Noyes he took his Tesla to the dealer, complaining that -- on multiple occasions -- the auto-pilot veered toward that same barrier -- the one his Model X hit on Friday when he died.
- ABC7

Tesla has called this mans family liars. Tesla says that the family is lying about the man making complaints about the autopilot veering towards the barrier that the Tesla hit when it killed him.

Can we get a comment from Elton Musk himself on this? Too busy creating headlines by deleting Facebook is he?
