In today‘s news program on the CCTV,  the report on President Xi's speech about the importance of education left me deep impress!   I think how to develop education would go like shouting slogans in the culture-revolution-period if we teachers fail to take effective measures!

In future, kids would not troubled with the frequent exams who would learn science-theory with more lab-tests and practice, who also be allowed to express their understanding in simple words. All would feel pleasure from reading as well as from playing football!

Children would learn kinds of subjects as they wish depending on their interest and ability. They would be more knowledgeable to deal with future complicated work.

Students would take serious exam with computer as pen.

Great changes would take place on the way to evaluate teaching-job and students’ performance!

All students would feel happier than the present since they always do lessons in logical way just as playing chess! Homework would be more colorful and enjoyable which go in kinds of forms instead of the present awful one!

......

Try ro use simple words for teaching and communication in daily life that is essential to the success of our education!

Avoid two extremes--extremely strict or extremely lenient. Children need to be trained and disciplined because they will never do that on their own. By nature, children only want to play.  So how to draw the line between strict and lenient depends on the child. Observe the child carefully and see what is the effective method of teaching--strict or lenient and by how much. Children cannot be left alone to decide what they want because they are too young and immature to do that. Let them decide when they show maturity later.
Education is continuous and stops only at death.

Observe the child and see what is his/her natural talent. Look for ways to help him/her develop that talent as much as possible. Do not be bias but be honest. Do not force the child to do what he/she has no talent in.

Schools should spread information as such and not be subjected to political interference. Politics should be kept out of schools. Until this will be realized, children remain victims of a so-called "education" that promotes not information but indoctrination.

Western indoctrination begins in kindergarten and continues through grad school.

Everyone can see the results whenever they read one of your posts even though you never made
it anywhere near grad school.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

Indoctrination can also come from the media. The anti-China media are really ramping up and so are certain people in this forum.

The most pernicious form of politics in Chinese schools are from western English teachers trying to force their views on the captive audience they have.
The sooner China can remove western English teachers from China they better off their
students will be.
