Zhou Qiang, China's chief justice, delivered a work report of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) on Friday at the first session of the 13th National People's Congress. This report has concluded 195,000 graft cases including bribery and embezzlement, involving 101 former officials at the provincial and ministerial level or above over the past five years.  Here is a link for you to find more information: http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2018-03/09/c_137027560.htm
Based on the data showing above, what are your views on China’s anti-graft issue?
What do you think about China's anti-corruption efforts over the past five years?

Quite impressed, but curious to know why former presidents turned a blind eye for so many years?

Numbers do NOT impress me. The Chinese propaganda needs to learn its trade and to deliver a more informative response to the public. The report is hackneyed and unconvincing, the language employed is stilted.

I can only be convinced by a report that describes some common forms of graft (there are many, too many to enumerate here...) and how the perps have been identified, convicted and adjudged. The truth is that corruption is so pervasive that nearly everybody gets touched by it one way or another. Yet very few people dare report corrupt practices. It takes too much courage for a commoner to complain about venal officials. THAT is the main problem.

Your post makes one believe the officials have finally done the right thing and are now stemming the rot. Sorry, that's not enough. They should rope in the general public whom they pretend to be serving, and listen to their voices. The public needs to be protected from persecution, though.

Graft that can only be reported by officials and punished by officials leads to more graft.

Based on the data showing in the report, I think China has made a lot of progress against corruption. These achievements cannot be achieved without the leadership of the CPC. Compared to western countries, the Communist Party of China can lead to a stronger measures on anti-corruption issues due to its unique power. Yet, anti-corruption is a long-term progress, hope China will continue to fight against corruption!

Nothing that sheds a positive light on China impresses you little monkey.
You're well known as a very active western propagandist so your opinion is always biased against China.

Your comment ""Graft that can only be reported by officials and punished by officials leads to more graft.""
is laughable. Where are the non-official vigilante squads in the west who dig into official graft and
punish the offenders?
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

My propagandaholic oppose number has replied... Should we post a reply to his reply or should we dig up some dirt and report it in the media? It seems Propagandaholic Robert wants to keep me from reporting graft to the public and the media. He is a stout supporter of the status quo.
