Young children need to be better prepared for the age of artificial intelligence (AI) by learning some basics of the technology, a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) said during the ongoing legislative sessions in Beijing.

Liu Qingfeng, chairman of China's leading tech firm iFLYTEK, presented a proposal on Monday to recommend to lawmakers that future AI innovators be trained from an early age.

Liu proposed that AI courses and experience centers be established in both primary and secondary schools, and that the area be given equal weight with other science subjects.

Such courses are necessary not only to broaden students' horizons but also to help them be well-prepared for the technological revolution, he commented.

Chinese political deputies have horrible mindsets. They value artificial intelligence above human intelligence. They want to turn biologically grown humans into robots from kindergarten on.

Not sure about this. Things are happening extremely quickly in the last couple of years in the field of AI. In one or two decades, many jobs are expected to be replaced by either smart software or robots. Countries that can invest large sums of money in the very technology can be well prepared for the future. Kids today are going to grow up in a world vastly different than ours. I hope I can teach them how to survive and adapt to the changing society.

When will the Chinese get a real education worthy of this name? The quality of Chinese elementary education is abysmal, appalling, horrible - call it what you will but it simply is poor. And here you say the young children's minds need to be further boxed in by technocratic subjects introduced by technocrats... This subject will eat up more time and the children will get no compensation.

Robots and A.I. will make thinking humans as employees redundant. One day nobody will be allowed to think for themselves What is the purpose of living in a society controlled by computers, A.I. and robots?
