I worked for a living. I didn't agree to kill people for a living like you.

So sad. You did what billions of people do, most of whom happily, and you are the most disgruntled, vitriolic ex-worker who cannot even enjoy his retirement.

It is an extraordinary journey for China morphing from an impoverished country on the brink of economic collapse to a powerful giant in merely 3 decades. This is amazing.

Yes, from being the 'poor man of Asia' to the rich man of the world within a few decades, how remarkable a transformation, to the envy of many, and the consternation of plenty especially those with the so-called democratic political system!

I do not understand how a Malaysian can find fault with Western democracy that benefits Westerners and the immigrants from the rest of the world but not Malaysians or Chinese. Democracies in the West started to develop their economy first followed by democracisation. Of course it is wrong to turn things upside down and democratize a society before you industrialise it. First the standard of living needs to be raised and the education of citizens lifted. In that regard, China is following the West except we do not know whether it will ever become democratic.

So in the interim, China may become a modestly prosperous society but it will most likely fail to become an educated nation and a democracy.

There is no reason to be envious of them.
