From birth to death all human beings are on the way exploring the outside world and express themselves in their own words. Science or language lessons are done with language as tool. It is unnecessary to require all people speak in flowery words as Chinese teachers ask students to do. All deep theories must be taught in plain description and never frighten kids with a thick book!
All of our writings should go with zero error!

Our government had been  running the agriculture-business in a military way for decades before 1979 which was replaced by the market-driven production-mood that proves a great success up to now. Farmers benefit a lot from the progress of modern management.

But the story always goes in the same tone in education field where teachers and students act as army soldiers marching forward shoulder to shoulder in strict routine order! ------------------In some sense they are slaves who lack of nutrition on self-thinking and free-self-express about lessons!
All of our writings should go with zero error!

Chinese students fix their eyes on blackboard, focus the ears on listening to teacher‘s lecture, tire the hand on writing and sums, with brain working hard to repeat others‘ words without their own real thinking! ----------They are the most diligent learners in world who often sacrifice sleeping hours for written homework!
I feel pity for the cold phenomenon that our schooling really goes in a strange way which is unfit for the new era!
We must do some reforming to set free kids from the low-efficiency work-style!
All of our writings should go with zero error!

Language is much more than a "tool", SEARU: Language is a MEANS, and a means can be varied, even beautiful. There is nothing wrong if you use flowery language to talk about prosaic objects. As long as the words make sense, even flowery words can convey the full meaning.

The English names of many modern inventions are highly poetic or flowery, too. A high-rise for example can be called "skyscraper". the word 'television" is a hybrid combining a Greek prefix that means "distant, far" with the Latin word for "seeing". These English words are not unambiguous, yet everyone understands them.

I think the problem is deeper. It lies with how things get explained in China, not what words are used. The teacher states his lessons with authority. He does not invite questions. This is the age-old Chinese attitudinal approach. If someone in authority says something the people placed below that authority simply have to lap up the message. This approach differs from the approach followed in the West. There the people are encouraged to ask questions, and the teachers answer them as best they can. They sometimes refer their pupils to experiments, sometimes to books. In China all the questions are archived in the published textbooks as are the answers. This is uninspiring and hopeless.

Yes, and Chinese farmers are none the wiser. They are among the worst polluters of the environment, yet they are quasi innocent because nobody tells them how wrong some of their techniques are (for eample the massive overuse of fertilisers).

A nation who depends on their few rulers for all wisdom cannot grow up.

"Language is a tool used for thinking.” This is a famous saying from karl. Marks.  --------------'Tool‘ is more vivid than ’means' since the former is normally visible while the latter is more abstract in most cases.

In our class there is less discussion or debating atmosphere where students act as sheep who are satisfied with the nearby weeds while their foreign counterparts always do hunting job as far as they could reach!

I do not know who said "A language is a tool" for the first time and has been quoted millions of times since then; if it was Karl Marx - with an "X" - that does not mean you should give him more credit than a linguist such as Ferdinand de Saussure. Ferdinand de Saussure never thought of languages as "tools". He knew a total of 8 languages and he studied the way they carry meaningful messages. Some languages are more effective in carrying messages of a complicated nature than others but all languages can convey meaningful messages as long as native speakers agree to abide by some rules that govern the use of the language. I am sure, for example, that you can impart very complex and meaningful messages through the medium of the Chinese language.

On the other hand, if the social and cultural conditions around the native speakers of a given language are hostile to some of the uses of the language then the communication among the native speakers will atrophy. I do think this has happened in China.
