a pit bull would have needed a dozen of them..

The cowards tied the dog to a stone bollard, then walked away and returned with a stick. How could the dog be dangerous if someone could attach it with a leash to that bollard? These useless cops should be sent to N Korea and fed to the starving feral dogs there!

Yes I agree - it is the owners that need to face severe consequences if their dog bites someone. It should he a lot more difficult for pet owners to get and keep pets. They should have to pass tests and get a license for having the pet and pay a yearly fee so we know they are serious about being responsible pet owners.

And Chinese police need better training and equipment for when they are forced to destroy dangerous animals that disturb the public.

"How could the dog be dangerous if someone could attach it with a leash to that bollard?"

Please read before you open your big gap; the dog had bitten several people before being caught and tied up!  As usual, you always shoot first, think later!

Please don't comment if you have nothing constructive to offer, which is the case here again. The dog must have been provoked. No Golden Retriever attacks out of the blue. And the question still is puzzling: who leashed the dog to that stone structure, and how if the dog was so "dangerous"?

And what constructive commnt do you possess?  You are always guessing, 'The dog must have been provoked."  Yeah, keep conjecturing!  Keep it to yourself, tell us after you have established the truth, don't tell us your guesses!

my observation is that dogs are poorly trained in China, if at all.

however that is no excuse for a policeman beating a dog to death.
the dog could have been destroyed in a less public place, doing so in public creates a very poor impression of the police.

no-one comes out well from this story: neither the owner or the police
