A young man in Wuhan, Hubei Province has become the latest Internet sensation after a video showing his heart-warming act on a subway train went viral on social media recently.

In the footage, the man can be seen holding his mobile phone in his hand after falling asleep on Metro Line 4, with a message in large font on the screen which read, "Please wake me if you need my seat."

The video was captured by a fellow passenger who posted it on Weibo on December 23 not realizing it would become so popular.

The video, which was just 7 seconds long, has been viewed more than 19 million times in just two days.

Chinese netizens were greatly touched by the young man's act and applauded him for his kindness. A web user even commented, "I only needed 7 seconds to fall in love with this young man."

The humble man refused an interview invitation from Chutian Metropolis Daily after becoming an Internet star and said that he just did what he felt he should.

In a Weibo post on Sunday afternoon, the young man thanked netizens for their love and praise.

He said he would always fall asleep when he had nothing to do on the train but worried others may need the seat, so he got the idea of making a message on his phone screen.

He added that he hopes the positive energy can spread further.

No idea how he pulled it off.

My phone will definitely also go to sleep shortly after I doze off.
Believe it or not, it's true.

" Please wake me if you need my seat."
Question : Sleeping ?  In a Public Transport ? And when you know your seat may be needed ( for an elderly or a child or an expecting mother).

This man is one out of 1.4 billion; the vast majority of young passengers don't offer their seats to those in need despite large signs onboard and public announcements asking them to do so.  Many continue to play with their cellphones while ignoring old folks and pregnant women standing right in front of them!  And many pretend to fall asleep when they see old folks coming in through the door.  So, just one out of 1. 4 billion does something good does not mean much.  Nothing to crow about. How about taking a picture of the young men seated on seat reserved for those in need and playing cellphones while those in need stand in front of them?
There should be more education for young passengers to offer their seats to those in need.

He was probably seated at a seat  clearly marked for elderlies, disabled, pregnant women etc, then he was clearly in the wrong, and the heaps of praises he received from netizens, are misplaced and misguided.
