There are customers in the west for companies like BMW, indeed, but much less than in China. BMW's sales in Europe and North America are not even sufficient for it to make ends meet, and that's why it has dedicated so much resources to its China business first to survive then to thrive financially.
If you were informed enough (we again know you are not), You might have heard of another German company SMS, which was about to go bankrupt in the early-2000s, then it came back with a bang, all because of the booming economy in China tiding it over. Every once in four years, there is a one-week expo titled METEC held in Duseldorf, where SMS, a leading company in its field, would be one of the focus of attention. And notably SMS even set aside one day for marketing activities exclusively for Chinese visitors.
As a matter of fact, SMS is not alone in fawning on Chinese customers, there are a lot more, but you are simply intellectually too myopic to see them.
