(Asia One)As if it wasn’t terrifying enough by itself, visitors are getting scared out of their wits by this glass bridge in China that appears to shatter.

The optical illusion, triggered by sensors and complete with surround sound, is a special feature of the East Taihang Glasswalk in Hebei province, which hangs over 3,800 feet high.

The effects look horrifyingly true to life as seen in videos which have been going viral this week.

One shows a panicked tour guide dropping to his knees as cracks form under his feet.

While some found it amusing to watch, others said on Weibo that there can be a serious risk of triggering a heart attack, Mashable reported.

After all, China’s glass bridges have really cracked before.

Following the attention received by the viral videos, the East Taihang district administration has issued an official apology.
