Should parents sign their kids' homework? [Copy link] 中文

Most Chinese primary schools make it a practice of having parents sign off on the homework of their children and help supervise their studies. A primary school in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, has recently announced it no longer requires parents to sign their children’s homework. Do any of you have to sign off on your child's homework? And if so, do you like this policy? If you are against this policy, why?

If a child is having problems or failing to complete their homework there is nothing wrong with this. It also show the parent is participating and showing interest.

I think it's not that bad .. School wanna parents know what their kids do at school and be a part of their children's school life ..

Many parents think it is entirely the teachers' job to educate their children. If the kids don't ever go over sth they learnt at home to reinforce what they have learned, they are less likely to remember it. Parents should be involved with their kids schooling and signing homework is a way to hold parents accountable for their part in their kid's education.
