Pictures without captions? I don't like that. The picture that follows the text about the warnings about terrorism in Turkey shows an Alpine setting ca. 2500 kms away from Turkey.

I don't believe a car registered in China is allowed to traverse the countries you listed. Is the story for real?

Yes it's real, the story has been carried by a few major news agencies.  Travelling on Chinese registration plates is not a problem, it's no more difficult than using any other countries plates, as long as you have valid  insurance that covers the country you are driving in and meet the local quarantine requirements for the vehicle and passengers, for example ensuring that the vehicle is steam-cleaned before entering certain countries to minimise the chances of importation of plant and other material.
