Fifth-graders of a primary school in Zhejiang province will learn traditional Chinese medicine this semester. This initiative has sparked heated discussions online. It is good but do not make it a compulsory examination subject so the students will not have added pressure. Hopefully, some students will take an interest and continue to learn and research on their own. TCM is another option for treatment so should not be abandoned. I believe TCM and western medicine are complementary.
