Edisonone was talking about China's ability to develop the WS-series of jet engines for military us ...

"Lastly, let's give credit where credit is due -- Nazi Germany -- is the place of origin for the jet engine where it was invented"

Yes. Let's give credit where it is due. The jet engine was not invented by Nazi Germany. The early designs put forward in Germany in the 1930's were similar to and then modeled on the jet engine designs of Frank Whittle, an Englishman who had been developing the concept a decade prior.

Sorry coralboy...
But, you might be surprised that like the a-bomb, the theoretics of the jet engine too was fiddled around by everyone at the time...

In other words, Britain wasn't the one that gave birth to the idea of the jet idea. The one who truly started the idea of a jet engine, it was said, was some guy from the Russian far east. It was his effort that gave birth to the idea of jet power.

Like the Kitty Hawk of the day, everything was a competition, all wanted credit for anything and everything new, the West in particular. And, as need and necessity, or WAR, is the mother of all creations at the time, it was Germany's war effort which truly exploited science and technology and brought science and technolgy to life.
As for the Kitty Hawk and the Wright Brothers: they are not the only ones fiddling around with flight at the time. Like that of the race for the atom bomb and for jet power, everyone in the world knew about the qwest for manned flight. And, while I don't seriously know who the real heros are here, some Brazilian however insisted that it was he who first made manned flight possible so who's to argue here?

Stranger still, and believe it or not, at around the same time, Chinese records have it that some chink kid from out of Victoria, BC, Canada, born and raised of course, took up the hobby, actually built and flew just such a machine in his old man's home village (Yin-Ping, Guangdong, China). Sadly for him, a hobby is still just a hobby unless you have industrial backing who believes in your idea and, flying was for the birds those days. Let's just say it was not his time to shine or, sorry, no Jerry Yang of Yahoo for him...

"It wasn't untill WW1 that Kitty Hawk specimens (i.e., biplanes) was actually put to use that the idea of maned flight truly took off. So back to Daddy's woks in Victoria, BC he goes because reality calls again."

A gesture here: it was not by chance that Qian Xi Shen was made head of NASA and the chance to become a member of jet propulsion lab, If my recollection has not decieved me, he was one amongst a hord of bright Chinese intellects selected by the then (Qing Empire I think) to be sent abroad to learn exactly what they did but as the winds of changes (politics) hits like Hurricane Irma, one can only exist to survive which is why he is made head of NASA (early days) instead of returning to Qing China.

Putin's a killer. This was the claim made by Fox News journalist; Bill O'Reilly during his recent interview with Donald Trump. Trump's reply came in the form of a simple question. What, you think our country's so innocent?

Now that is reaching ....
The concept of a jet engine was developed centuries ago. Long before some unnamed Russian in the Far East had "an idea".
The first person to design and build a modern jet engine was indeed Mr Whittle. A design the Germans took on and improved.

If you insist coral. I mean what's the point in arguing? Germany lost the war. When you lose a war, you are not entitled to any credit. Japan lost also. As a result, aside from being proudly and from being me tarzanly you janely tantoring their chests (victor of course) to commemorate the nukes that brought Japan to her knees every anniverssy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, none of the contributions Japan had made to science and technology was ever mentioned or given credit. Reality when you lose a war.
