just yesterday my collegue was complaining about her nephew being spoiled rotten, and how she cannot ...

Of course, these parents cannot say "no" to their own kids - the parents usually are addicts themselves!

For most everywhere, life is not easy. If you see a sullen face on a tired body on a sunday morning of someone who has to work, it is a plain example.

People everywhere put in hard honest work in order to try and make decent living to support themselves and their families. In most cases, it is not so easy to shine in the hope of getting more especially when squared against risks.

To even get by in life, real-world reality must combine with real-people interactivity.

Such is life's deal for most. Which would explain why parents are concerned if their children start to affect a behavioral pattern that smacks of escapist addiction to virtual reality which is another world on its own walled off in the mind of the escapist only from face-to-face interaction and that will denude social skills needed for real-people interactivity, the twin of real-world reality, the challenge of facing up to the harshness of life in the hope of earning a small sweet moment of succor.

It is addiction.  Just see how aggravated an uber wifi-user becomes when the line drops, and drops again.

Most parents hope their children will become financially independent one day, doing good work and living fulfilling lives. But that cannot come if they continue to disdain the real-world by finding their amusement in the un-real virtual world, time so spent that started with a tool to escape boredom leading next to escape from everything else, especially the responsibility to be useful to oneself who has to live, work and socialize with others in society.

If it comes to a stage where they can get angry at their parents, then that shows the parents were completely right to send them to boot camps whose routines may appear to be physically harsh but would in reality shake them off their languorous latitude and attitude to the need to be disciplined and healthy.

Life is a balance. Escapist addictions unbalance life.

Who needs good old-time style spanking - the parents or their spoilt kids?

Parents should instill discipline, sure. By the way, if your children, from a parent's perspective, are using Win7, check out SKEEBLOO at truetime-applications.com It is an internet-blocker bootcamp-style, CHEAT-PROOF! Thank you-
