re: She thinks Taiwanese poachers are criminals and their Chinese criminal buyers are gentlemen...

Once again ol'chap, you got it All wrong...

I say:    All POACHERS are criminals, the one killing and selling the animals, as well as the one transporting them to put them on the market.
Needless to say, in any Court ruling the actual poacher fishing in the Galapagos marine reserve about 1,000 kilometers west of Ecuador’s Pacific coast will be heavier fined as the crew of the refrigerated
carrier vessel (not a fishing boat), whose job was to collect and deliver to port the (illegal) catch of other fishing boats.
However, Shark fishing outside of the Galapagos Marine Reserve is not always poaching: shark fishing as bycatch is legal in most of Ecuador’s Exclusive Economic Zone, extending 200 nautical miles (370 km) from its coast. So is selling the meat and fins on national and international markets. But fishing or even transporting scalloped hammerheads (Sphyrna lewini) in Ecuador’s waters is always illegal.

But one must also note:
The audience also revealed that close to 300 tons of fish found in the hold of the Asian ship were received from two Taiwanese ships:   the Hai Fang 301 and the Hai Fang 302.   According to the crew members, the transfer was made between the 5th and the 7th of August, over a thousand kilometers northeast of Galapagos.

The media and certain forumites point their stinky finger at China only.

But they should also mention that two Taiwanese fishing boats transferred their catch to a Chinese vessel some 1000 Km northeast of Galapagos.

Since Taiwan and China are All Chinese, the ruling must be accepted.

It'll not be long and the crew of theTaiwanese fishing boats Hai Fang 301 and the Hai Fang 302 will share the same hospitality in an Ecuador slammer...

The Ecuadorean embassy in Beijing cited the country’s foreign affairs ministry as saying that the fishermen violated Ecuador’s Integral Criminal Organic Code for crimes against wild flora and fauna.

Fish caught by Taiwanese ships in the open seas are not subject to confiscation by the Ecuadorian government.  Only the endangered fish.  To rob the robber may sound like poetic justice, but wait till the robber of the robber gets robbed himself.  The punishment is excessive and out of proportion to the offense of the Chinese fishermen.  This maltreatment of Chinese fishermen should be subject to reciprocation by China.  The human rights of Chinese citizens around the world shall not be subject to arbitrary violation under the guise of local laws.

You sound a tad different to how you mouthed off previously, old cow. You came across as an APOLOGIST for this most unconscionable form of piracy.

It doesn't matter that these swine are Chinese; what matters is their crime. If they were Greenlanders I would call for the same punishment. Why should they even have a right to "reciprocate"? No one fishes in Chinese waters. There isn't much to fish any way. And surely no S Americans come to the Bohai Sea or the so-called "South China Sea" to catch sharks; yet Chinese so-called "fishermen" are routinely sighted off the Korean coast, Senegal in W Africa and Argentina and Chili in S America. In the case of the two Koreas, Chinese so-called "fishermen" have been known to resist maritime police action with physical violence leading to deaths. So I wonder: are the Chinese engaged in maritime aggressions to claim oceans?

Norway:  The grenade hits the whale's body and detonates, causing massive trauma...
Despite opposition from scientists, the Norwegian hunts continue, though it's unclear why. Few people in Norway actually want to eat whale meat, so the demand is low, and Norway ends up exporting most of the meat to Japan.
Greenland:
Local sale of whale products whether to hotels, restaurants or anyone coming in to the local open market are allowed by executive order.’

Greenland has gone so far as to claim has a fundamental right to sell whale meat to tourists as part of its right to economic development. Greenland says that it is:
meaningless to differentiate between subsistence and commercial hunting as contradictory or mutually exclusive activities...

Are you going to hack of their hands as well, or are you specialized on Chinese hands?

Again: you are a BIGOT who capitalises on animal suffering to put the onus on the West and thus away from where it belongs: to all these criminals who hunt down species that are on the brink of extinction. This thread is about Chinese poachers in a maritime nature park ca. 20'000 kms from where the low lives hail from. 'nuff said.
