(CGTN) Racist graffiti targeting Chinese students has sparked anger at the University of Sydney.

The words "Kill Chinese" were etched into the wall of a bathroom stall, together with a swastika.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the university condemned the graffiti and said "any and all remnants" would be removed.

"The University of Sydney is committed to ensuring that our community is a safe, inclusive and supportive one," the statement said.

A spokesperson for the university told Australia's Special Broadcasting Service (SBS), "Any graffiti or posters placed around campus of a racist nature are immediately removed."

The university said they did not know who was responsible for the graffiti but believed it to be the work of a solo individual.

According to SBS' Mandarin service, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has expressed its concerns about the incident and urged authorities to handle the case properly to protect the safety and dignity of Chinese students in Australia.

The incident at the University of Sydney comes just a week after flyers were distributed at two universities in Melbourne warning Chinese nationals to leave the country or face deportation.

This is definitely part of US students!
They are not only jealous but do not want to see Chinese students excel in Australia.
Using this debase act, they could push the blame onto Australians.
Make sure the real culprits are brought to task to face the music!

Australian's can be "casual racists" this is true, plus organisations such as the KKK have been recruiting here for many years via the internet.  It's only in the past couple of years that the authorities seem to have become aware of the situation.

However, most Australians who are educated are not really racist, but this piece of villainy at Sydney Uni pains me as that's one of the universities I attended many years ago.  Back then if anyone had written such graffiti they would have been mercilessly bashed by other students.

It makes me ashamed to be a Sydney University Alumni.
