I didn't know there are trains in China that run on such long journeys. The longest trip in the same train I have done was from Guangzhou to Lanzhou; there I had to spend half a day before I could catch another train taking me to Urumqi, and finally a train from there to Kashgar.

My longest train rides have been Toronto to Vancouver (ca. 4'000 kms), Samarkand to Moscow (ca. 6'000 kms), MNoscow to Beijing (ca. 8'600 kms). The Beijing-Guangzhou leg also is pretty long at 2;'300 kms.
