Well done China

Yes, it is an amazing achievement. In the near future China's energy will come from non fossil fuel sources. China is on its way to become the biggest wind and solar power capacity. Many homes have hot water heated by solar power. Global leader for renewables in more ways than one.

You talk as if therew was an Olympic discipline "generating clean energy". There is no such discipline. There is no rational justification for trying to be "Number One". Each country should try to be self-sufficient in energy production and be a clean producer. China is far from being a clean energy producer, no matter how many such installations it boasts. It still relies heavily on coal-fired power generation.

But the worst is: unlike First-World countries where responsible power consumption has been identified half a century ago, China ist still only a consumer of energy and not doing anything to save energy.

Typically a Chinese building wastes 50% or more of the energy consumed to cool or heat it. People have no incentive to burn less power, and certainly no interewst in the protection of the environment. CUrrently the country sells more S.U.V.s than economic cars. Everywhere you go in China, there is a frenetic and enthusiastic wasting of energy and other resources.

Don't wait for the government to tell you to tighten your belts; do it of your free will before you must. But who will do that in China???

HE certainly has a deeper paranoia than anybody else.
Give an idiot like him a wide berth, this is my sincere advice.
Believe it or not, it's true.
