A parking lot sharing mobile application is gaining popularity among white-collar workers in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang Province, amid China’s sharing economy boom. By inputting one’s cellphone number, license plates number and periods of time needed, an app user will be able to find a shareable parking space in a residential area close to his or her working place.

According to Li Hongbin, CEO of "Zhao Che Wei", the application has over 6,000 registered users at present, and they are planning to work with 200 residential areas in Hangzhou within the year.

Would you be ready to share your parking space?

Sorry, I think this is plain STUPID. It is the same as building more overpasses and adding lanes to existing road. The end effect is that there will be more demand for road space.

There is no solution except to reduce the number of private vehicles, or their use.

You are so pessimistic. Reduce the number of private vehicles is not a workable solution with the development of chinese economy. I think Improve the utilization rate of the parking lot by sharing parking lots is a good answer to parking woes.

Yeah, what a superintelligent poster you are. The Chinese economy would starve to death if you  Chinese were supposed to act more rationally and refrain from driving your polluting jalopies!

You will have to row up a lot more if you want to become respected. In the West, people had to learn to reduce their stupid driving habit back in the 1970s because of the oil-producing countries' blackmail against oil consuming countries. At that time people rejoiced and rode bikes on motorways.

But which Chinese person can think outside the box?

Does shared equal renting? Renting a car space is nothing new is it? There is a cool Australian movie called Crackerjack that is about a guy that is a member of a local bowling club so that he gets control of a carapace. There is a Seinfeld episode about rented car park isn't there? What makes it sharing? Were we sharing taxis? Why weren't taxis part of the so-called 'share economy'? We are not sharing taxis but we are sharing Uber cars are we? How about sharing delivery? Were we sharing pizza delivery guys before realizing it? Capitalist are so idiotic it is ridiculous. "Shared economy! What a bunch of complete $%$%wits. They think that using the word shared will protect them from taxes and unions. It won't.
