That is why I requested for details of that story.
Money does not just "disappear" from an account. In very recent past over 40 Million USD were stolen from Middle Eastern Banks by a gang of hackers based in USA. Your must be aware of complete details of that operation.

I have traced the source as far back as Jin Yang Net-yangcheng Evening News Author: Xu Chen but there isn't any more information of any substance.
(mostly harmless)

I did not exclusively think of banks stealing money from account holders. There are other ways of short-changing people and the society. How about lending money to a mortgage seeker and taking someone else's property as corollary? Or blurring the lines between legal and not so legal mortgages?

Nothing wrong with that if property owner agrees to offer his/her property as a collateral.
