The level of free service provided by China's universal health care system alone, is not very good. So I have heard anyway. The parents of these Starbucks employees will be able to afford better hospitals and more expensive healthcare.

China has a universal health care system so it's not needed

I beg to differ.

The "universal health care" in China is woefully inadequate.

And you need to remember that even in China, patients have to fork out some money for the medical services given them. Doctors are wont to prescribe expensive drugs. Who is a patient to disobey a doctor?

When I was employed in China, I was officially "insured" but what did the insurance company pay?

In one case they paid a small percentage of my salary because I could not make it up, but they did not pay for the treatment.

The rationale was that hospitalised patients need to be taken care of by their next-of-kin. Or in my case: by my employer's staff. Of course the staff wouldn't pay for drip solutions and the hospital bed. That was all up to me.

Starbucks failed in Australia we already had a coffee culture that was better than what Starbucks had to offer
