Ruli was a beach left after the Yangtze River Channel moving eastward. it's said on Emperor Qianlong's journey to south,he found out local there are polite and educated, so he inscribed “Ruli” which means hometown of Confucians to praise people there. Zhushi Ancestral Temple located in antique Ruli which was known for its fame "The best Temple in Jiangnan district." Ruli is less famous but if you are interested in ancient Chinese dwelling houses, this is a good choice, and if you go there, dont forget to sample the local cuisine Dongxiang mutton.
