Yes I agree. Kids in western countries have been taught xmas is about receiving and not giving...
...

You have been taught something diametrically different from what I was taught in my childhood.

I believe you were in an insignificant minority.

I was taught - along with all my classmates - by our teachers that children should make gifts for their parents and we made them at school. Even those among us who were not Christians made little handicraft gifts for their fathers and mothers.

BAN everything enjoyable or annoying.... it is easier than managing it all. When are intelligent Chinese people going to stop this ridiculous reaction to everything?
English teacher and education adviser. China needs a teaching profession with less fear and more trust and honesty.

How many kids in the west think the 1st gift should be to the lord, followed by a stranger or friend in need?
how many kids would give up their gifts to someone more in need? I doubt many kids have been taught that
if you want something in life get off your backside, and do it yourself!! don't rely on others to do it for you

I'm sorry to say,  in their opinion they're on the right path...
Not necessarily a glamorous jobs.
Many of the lads recruits to the CIA work in analysis, the desk jockeys of the intelligence world, and leave without building a whole career in government.

But there’s at least one place in American society where them young lads have found an unusual degree of acceptance.
In agencies like the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and the CIA, which see them as particularly desirable recruits and have a reputation for hiring a disproportionate number of people who belong to this OUTFIT.
The reasons behind; strong foreign language skills, from missions overseas; a relatively easy time getting security clearances...

Mike McPheters will tell you more...
