I have passed through the old Beijing Railway Station going to and from NE China via high speed train several times and have never seen an elevator or an escalator. I usually have at least 2 big suitcases, which are hard to carry up and down the long staircases. Wikipedia and some other sites say that there are elevators/escalators in the station. Can anyone confirm this? They also say that there is "Redcap" service from the station entrance to the train platforms, but that it is hard to find "Redcaps" on the platforms to carry luggage to the station entrance. Is that true? I am interested in the high speed rail. Thanks in advance for your help.
