What can Trump, or anyone else for that matter "CON" us with? He may "TEST" our resolve by applying pressure (THAAD) on us to see if we would cave and, agree to partner with him to do a job on Kim. Deep down however, he knows Beijing is interested "only in its own security" and won't want any part of any silly-American-plot. China simply isn't going to betray her neighbour, not even if its arch rival Virtnam, for the agendas of someone postures us with nukes. Trump knows that "getting us on his side is but a wet dream" but, he also know that he needs to put up a good act otherwise they (Trump's enemies in the US) will be all over him. Six party talk, I'd say, is likely the closes they can get to get Kim Un to denuclearise himself.

Putin's a killer. This was the claim made by Fox News journalist; Bill O'Reilly during his recent interview with Donald Trump. Trump's reply came in the form of a simple question. What, you think our country's so innocent?

PYONGYANG, North Korea (CNN) -- North Korea on Friday destroyed a water cooling tower at a facility where officials acknowledge they extracted plutonium to build nuclear weapons, CNN's Chief International Correspondent Christiane Amanpour reported from the scene.
The cooling tower is demolished at the Yongbyon nuclear complex near Pyongyang, North Korea.

The cooling tower is demolished at the Yongbyon nuclear complex near Pyongyang, North Korea.

The massive implosion, which came at about 5pm local time Friday at the Yongbyon facility, was intended to be a powerful public symbol of a move to end nuclear activities by the Communist nation once branded a member of an "axis of evil" by U.S. President George W. Bush.

The destruction of the highly visible symbol of North Korea's long-secret nuclear program came just a day after the country released details of its program.

"There was a moment of stunned silence as the magnitude of what had happened sunk in," Amanpour said.

U.S. State Department officials and observers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) watched from a reviewing stand on a ridge about 1,000 yards away, she said.

"This is a very significant disablement step," the U.S. envoy to North Korea, Sung Kim, said.

Nuclear experts say that the plant's destroyed central water-cooling tower would take a year or longer to rebuild if North Korea were to try using the plant again.

"This is a critical piece of equipment for the nuclear reactor," said analyst John Wolfsthal, of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, who has been following North Korea since the 1980s. "Without this facility, the reactor can't operate and can't produce more plutonium for weapons." Video Watch the tower being demolished »

North Korea has been dismantling other parts of the facility under the watchful eyes of representatives of the five other nations, including the U.S., that have been involved in six-party talks aimed at ending Pyongyang's nuclear weapons program.

One must be careful about alliances. Like how WW1 started, they can entangle one into bloodshed for objectives not of one's making.

In these days of a multipolar world, the friend of my foe is not necessarily the foe of my friend. And when the equation is nuclearized, friends can get fried as well in the process.

We should all move away from the perpetual zero-sum game but work cooperatively towards mutual assured prosperity.

If after that we still need to marshal martial forces, let all collectively direct them towards the alien invasion.  Somewhere in an exoplanet they are beating their drums of war; us earthlings are still too delinquent in our views to realize we will soon be conquered and made extinct.

With the end of any Republic of Korea military alliance with the USA, the removal of all US forces from ROK, the disarmament of both Korean regimes, a subsequent reunification of Korea on China's terms, an alliance between Korea and China, a US declaration that Taiwan should return to China and the end of all military relations between Taiwan and the USA - WHAT ELSE WOULD CHINA NEED FOR BOTH SECURITY ANF "PRIDE"! China could then be the US partner in seeking world peace - AND NOTHING COULD STOP THEM!
Without World Government we are DOOMED.

It is entirely in China's interests to get rid of the Kim criminals.

Don't know how this got to you, Ted. This was a reply to Boston, not you.

It's "NOT" up to you to determine other people's "WANTS" or "DON'T WANTS". Korea is none of yours business.

Practice what you guys preach, Boston: let the Koreans fight it out for themselves, much as your civil war of the 1800's. Its their world. They're entitled to determine for themselves their own destiny.

Ultimately, Boston, you will have to accept a reunified Korea as you "reluctantly accepted" a reunified Vietnam anyway so why expend all of this expense (ie., human lives and money) to keep Korea, momentarily, apart?

As a businessman, DJT is likely going to see through the Korean imbalance-sheet and stop the stupidity cos the bottom line doesn't compute with him.

The simple truth is this: America's "nuclear blackmail" is a weapon already broken by Kim's nukes and missiles. "Asia" have no more need to fear America's nukes because America's nukes had been null and neutralised. Korea will be Korea again just as how Vietnam finally is Vietnam again.

Its destiny, Boston. Lets just hope it won't be another Vietnam bloodbath for all of us to see a Korea and a China reunified, ie., as one Korea and as ine China.
