Maybe, China has. But who trusts China? Not even the Chinese people do.

Are you sure all Chinese do not trust? Besides, trust is subjective but fact is fact. Anyone can choose not to trust the truth even when confronted with it face to face. Prejudice, bias, racism, xenophobia could be reasons for that.

*the US tests the patience of China by using warships to claim "freedom of navigation"*

I know what the US is up to and what it is capable of.

WHEN INNOCENCE IS LOST, THE QUESTION BECOMES "AUSTERLITZ OR WATERLOO".

The reality is not that China is denying other countries of their right of INNOCENT passage through her territorial waters, but rather, other countries denying China of her right of SOVEREIGNTY by passage through her territorial waters with obvious lack of innocence.  As such, at present, there is a direct and ongoing challenge to China to defend her sovereignty by force of arms.  But, as in the game of Weichi or Go, what matters is not where others choose to set their stone.  What matters is where you decide to set yours.  On this point rests the difference between Austerlitz and Waterloo.

It is clear that while one side might have chosen the South China Sea, the other may have chosen the Sea of Japan.  Just as Hannibal went for Rome, Scipio Africanus went for Carthage.  This is not just a story.

It actually happened.

Those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat its mistakes.

Peace is too precious to take for granted.  Once lost, so will all innocence be "gone with the wind".

You just lost my TRUST in you because you inserted that word "all" by sleight of hand. Now you see how you Chinese always manage to lose respect and trust.

The Chinese government can be trusted to keep an international agreement.

So can the Russian government.
